Choir Director

Greg Bledsoe has served First Presbyterian of DeFuniak Springs for over 25 years.  Mr. Bledsoe taught elementary music for 34 years as the Choral Music director at Davidson Middle School in Crestview, Florida.  His musical background and specialization is in woodwind instruments.  In addition to his service in our music program, Mr. Bledsoe serves as an Elder, Sunday School teacher, and supply pastor. In his personal time, Mr. Bledsoe is an active martial arts practitioner and substitute teacher. Organist / Pianist

Keitha Bledsoe is a native of Okaloosa County, having taught in the Okaloosa County school system for 35 years. She has served as Florida Vocal Association State Junior High/Middle School chairman, FVA district chairman, Middle School Repertoire and Standards committee chairperson for the American Choral Directors Association, accompanist and associate director of the Okaloosa Chamber Singers, and Okaloosa County’s Teacher of the Year in 1996. Ms. Bledsoe is a popular clinician and adjudicator in the tri-state area of Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. She has served First Presbyterian of DeFuniak Springs for over 20 years.  Prior to her service here, she was the organist at First United Methodist Church, Crestview, Florida. Keitha continues to share her talents as an accomplished pianist with local organizations, schools, theaters, and other musical venues. Office Assistant

Tenicia Sconiers began work as our Office Assistant on August 12, 2024. She is married to Sashus Sconiers and is the mother of Paris Hughes, London Hughes, and Roman Sconiers. When not spending time with her family (and running our office,) Tenicia enjoys painting, primarily watercolors, and spending time in her garden. Childcare

Chloe Dobson, a sophomore at The University of West Florida, has been tending to the children in the Sunday nursery since August 2024. Chloe is always ready with a smile and hug.

Paris Hughes, a Senior at Walton High School, has volunteered in the nursery since August 2023. She enjoys playing with the children and ensuring they have a safe and fun environment to play in while they are with her.

Minister

Rev. Cathy Mooney began serving as minister of First Presbyterian Church in May 2023. This is the congregation she calls home and the place that helped form her faith. She began working in youth ministry at age 19 and served for several decades as a Christian Educator in large and small congregations. After attending seminary at Union/PSCE Seminary in Charlotte, NC (Now Union Presbyterian Seminary), she was ordained in March 2018 and served as solo pastor of a small congregation in Eastern North Carolina before accepting the call to serve back home.
